History
Founded in 1960, JEFCO Screw Machine Products, Inc. is a premier provider of high-quality precision components. We are committed to delivering precision-engineered products at competitive prices to a global client base, prioritizing quality, reliability, and operational excellence.
A Foundation of Expertise
The company originated as a small job shop in Rockford, Illinois. In March 1988, Bruce C. Mayer and Wilbert J. Mayer acquired the business, incorporating under the current name and relocating to our present facility in the Loves Park industrial park. This father-son leadership team brought over 48 years of combined manufacturing experience, establishing a culture of technical mastery that remains our hallmark today.
Generational Continuity
JEFCO has thrived for decades as a family-operated enterprise. In 2012, Rachel Thompson, daughter of Bruce Mayer, joined the company to learn every facet of the business. Working closely with her father and the production team, she ensured the family’s high standards for quality and service were upheld while preparing the company for future growth.
Our Path Forward: Investing in Innovation
While the company felt the profound loss of Wilbert in 2013 and Bruce in 2015, their legacy of dedication continues through the generations of the Mayer, Thompson and Edlen families.
Today, JEFCO is committed to staying at the forefront of the industry by continuously investing in advanced manufacturing equipment. Leading this evolution into modern machining, Kyle Thompson is spearheading Jefco’s expansion into CNC manufacturing. This growth includes the integration of CNC Lathes and Swiss CNCs, allowing us to meet complex modern specifications with unparalleled accuracy. Simultaneously, Alexander Thompson is actively learning all aspects of the business, ensuring our commitment to operational excellence remains consistent across every department.
